I’ve been to the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Village before last year during my trip through historic Alberta, but at the time I didn’t want to include this grain elevator in my series. It seemed somewhat artificial and staged moving something and arranging them wherever. I had a change of heart this year and thought that eventually, curated museums might be the only way that future generations can see wooden grain elevators. This one is very well taken care of and maintained. Hopefully it’ll last. I do appreciate people taking the time and effort to preserve these prairie icons.
