I came across this curve on a mountain switchback while hiking one day and had an epiphany. I noticed that the heavier / denser sediments had settled on the slower inside curve and the lighter / less dense material had settled on the faster outside curve. Very similar to how river banks are formed. How fast is this poo coming out of the horses?!!
